Some thoughts Arundhathi Roy gave us…

Some thoughts Arundhathi Roy gave us…

I was the worst thing a girl could be in Kerala: thin, black, and clever.
If protesting against having a nuclear bomb implanted in my brain is anti-Hindu and anti-national, then I secede. I hereby declare myself an independent, mobile republic. I am a citizen of the earth. I own no territory. I have no flag. I’m female, but have nothing against eunuchs.
India lives in her villages. We’re told, in every other sanctimonious public speech. That’s bullshit, just a figleaf. India dies in her village.
Box-cutters, penknives and cold anger are the weapons with which the wars of the new century will be waged. Anger is the lock-pick. It slips through customs unnotices. Don’t show up in baggage checks.
The world bank is to India what the local bania is to landless laborer. Its’ not for nothing that we call the world a global village.
When the history of India’s leap into the information Age is written, let it be said that 56 million paid for it with everything they had .
Democracy is the Free World’s who’re, willing to dress up, dress down, willing to satisfy a whole range of tastes , available to be used and abused at will.
If there is a nuclear war, our foes will not be China or Pakistan. Our foe will be the earth, the wind and water, will all turn against us. Their wrath will terrible.
Nuclear weapons pervade our thinking. Control our behavior. Administer our societies. Inform our dreams. They are the ultimate colonizer. Whiter than any white man that ever lived. The very heart of whiteness.

Sare Jaham Se Acha...

i love India

Kerala situated in the south most tip of Indian peninsula
Is as much known for its scenic splendor as far its
Contribution to the country’s intellectual and cultural landscape.
It is a land where nature still holds her own.

Acers of vivid green plain palm trees,
Golden beaches, backwaters where the only sound
Is the occasional splash of the boat man’s paddle,
The Chinese fishing nets of Cochin,
The trumpeting of the elephants,
The celebratory fire works at Hindu festivals.
These are the sights ad sounds of Kerala
Those visitors will remember long after
Returning home.

Unless snowy mountains are your thing
You will find Kerala the most beautiful of the
Indian states.
Deserted golden beaches run all over
The cost and half the palm trees in
The world must grow here.
I welcome you to discover this beautiful land
